For their Fall Wedding in Billings Missouri at The Hitchin' Post wedding venue Blake and Allison had the most gorgeous fall day! They really could not have asked for better weather!
So let's go back to the beginning shall we? Blake and Allison met online when Blake commented on one of Allison's Instagram posts. They started messaging back and forth and that led to their first date in Verona, Missouri at a corn maze. Blake happened to be there with his FFA group from his high school and she met him there. There were such babies! (They were only 15!) They dated all through high school and through college as well. Blake graduated college after they were married. Their second date was on 10/17/2014 and they got married on 10/17/2020! Love that!
She said he got to go on vacation with her and her family to Pensacola, Florida. He told her he wanted to get a picture on the beach with the sunset and while they were taking photos he proposed to her!
Allison's dress was a gorgeous boho style lace dress with a train from Norman's Bridal. It accentuated her tiny figure and says it made her feel the prettiest she had ever felt in her whole life! Just the way the perfect for you dress should make you feel! Her bridesmaids wore peach colored maxi dresses and the flowers were cranberry and peach with lots of greenery from Shannon's Custom Florals. Blake work a gray jacket and vest with burgundy tie from Karl's Tuxedos and boots and a black cowboy hat from PFI Western Wear in Springfield, Missouri. His best man and their three ring bearers also were outfitted in PFI!
Getting Ready Wedding Photos
Allison and her bridesmaids hung out before the wedding while they were getting ready doing the usual things brides and bridesmaids do...listen to music, talk about lots of different things, have a few beverages and snacks and get ready for their big day. They had a spacious bridal suite with a long counter and lots of well lit mirrors for putting on their makeup and getting their hair done. Allison's mom came in to finish helping her daughter get ready and her maid of honor Lacey lead a prayer for her.
The groom and groomsmen had a loft with darts, foosball and a pool table to keep them occupied while they waited for their time to dress for photos before the ceremony.
Allison and Blake had already decided to have their ceremony outside, knowing that if the weather turned bad they could always switch to plan B and have the ceremony inside the venue. Luckily they didn't have to worry about that at all.
First Look
Blake and Allison decided not to do a first look before the ceremony. They did want to have a private moment together before the ceremony though and we were able to get a few beautiful shots of them together on opposite sides of a door while they held hands and said a prayer.
Then we did a first look with Allison revealing her dress to her father. These are always so sweet. It's sometimes hard for a father to see their daughter in her dress for the first time. It reminds them she is no longer his little girl and he no longer has her all to himself.
After a beautiful ceremony we had a short photo session with just the bride and groom and then with the wedding party and then it was on to their grand entrance as a newly married couple!
They had smoked pulled pork nachos prepared by family and lots of beverages to wash it down. The maid of honor and best man made their toasts and they all played some games, including a contest to see whether the bride or groom would have the cake smashed in their face when they cut the cake! There may have been some cheating to ensure that the groom had a face full of cake which may have been encouraged by both the best man and the maid of honor....;)
We also made time for a quick ten minute sunset portrait getaway from the party. The light is so amazing at sunset, so I definitely cannot recommend enought that you should plan this into your day!! So gorgeous!
After that it was first dance and lots of dance floor shenanigan's!!! Everyone's second favorite part of the evening!
